We are offering art and painting classes exclusively at Lyon Road Art’s new studio in Waunakee, Wisconsin (suburb of Madison)! I have taught many classes over the years, from fun Paint ‘N Sip ones, to serious medical illustration and watercolor classes, to volunteering art at nursing homes. However, this is the first time I’m doing it through my own studio and I couldn’t be more excited to share my expertise with the adults and children in the community! I look forward to working with you and your children.

All classes will be offered at 101 E. Main St., Waunakee, WI.

I’ve heard it said that watercolor is the most challenging medium. You know, because you can’t erase or paint over it and it’s hard to control with all that flowing. Wrong! This medium is beautiful, ethereal, exciting and, yes, it can be controlled. With just a few tricks of the trade I can teach you to be the master of it as well. This class is for beginners and beyond; anyone who has an interest in learning and developing skills in painting and watercolor techniques is welcome! We will be focusing on simple still life projects for the entirety of the course.

For this class, you will need to bring your own supplies. Check out the RESOURCES page for links to recommended materials.

Dragons, fairies and monsters. Robots, centaurs and dinosaurs. Do these things fill your kids' mind—and their sketchbooks? Then sign them up! We will be using fantastical creatures and scenery as a basis to expand their knowledge of drawing, shading and form building. Pencil and pen will be the primary media. No need to bring materials

In this class we will learn how to paint your kids' best friend—their pet! (And if they don't have a pet, no problem. Neither do I! They can just paint their dream pet. I'll be going with an iguana). We'll be working in watercolor, acrylic and pen and ink to create two to three pet portraits. We'll learn simple techniques to render fur, scales, paws and more. No materials other than a picture or two of their pet or dream pet!
