This print shows a heart dissection. Often using red in anatomy art comes off a bit gruesome so I chose to use a deeper, darker color palette while still keeping it soft. This painting has a haunting feel to it, the depth of it in both color and subject really draws you in.
This painting is part of my Exquisite Anatomy Collection. What makes it special is that I used real dissection photos, not illustrations for reference. When I saw the internal anatomy for the first time in my cadaver labs in school, I realized how deceptively chaotic and haphazard everything looks. My goal with this collection is to show the true beauty of the structures and functions that make us possible, and to show it in the most beautiful way possible.

PLEASE NOTE: All sizes above 16x20 will be vectorized. Enlarging our prints without vectorizing can cause the print to look blurry or pixelated, since it’s usually painted at a smaller size. The vectorization process fixes that, however, it does slightly change the look of the painting. It is barely noticeable, but we do like to make you aware so that you know exactly what you’re getting from us! Take a look at the split image to see the difference between the two.
